A traditional Quebec meat pie filled with spiced pork and beef, perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients
☐1 lb ground pork (450 g)
☐1 lb ground beef (450 g)
☐1 onion, chopped
☐2 cloves garlic, minced
☐1 tsp thyme (5 g)
☐1 tsp nutmeg (5 g)
☐1 tsp allspice (5 g)
☐2 pie crusts
☐1 egg, beaten for glazing
Directions
In a skillet, sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
Add pork and beef, cook until browned.
Stir in thyme, nutmeg, and allspice, then cool.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Fill pie crust with meat mixture, cover with second crust.
Brush with beaten egg, cut slits, and bake for 45 minutes.
