This flavorful marinade combines the sweetness of maple syrup with the umami of soy sauce, perfect for grilling meats or tofu.
Ingredients
☐1/2 cup (120 ml) maple syrup
☐1/3 cup (80 ml) soy sauce
☐2 tbsp (30 ml) apple cider vinegar
☐1 tbsp (15 ml) sesame oil
☐2 garlic cloves, minced
☐1 tsp (5 g) ground ginger
☐1/2 tsp (2 g) black pepper
☐1/4 cup (60 ml) water
Directions
In a bowl, whisk together all ingredients until well combined.
Place your choice of meat or tofu in a resealable bag.
Pour the marinade over the protein and seal the bag.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for maximum flavor.
Remove from marinade and grill or cook as desired.
