A classic Quebec dessert featuring a rich filling made from brown sugar, cream, and eggs, baked in a flaky pastry crust.
Ingredients
☐1 pie crust
☐1 1/2 cups (300 g) brown sugar
☐1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream
☐3 eggs
☐1 tsp (5 g) vanilla extract
☐1/4 tsp (1 g) salt
☐1/3 cup (40 g) cornstarch
☐1 tbsp (15 g) butter (for greasing)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a pie dish with butter and place the pie crust inside.
In a bowl, mix brown sugar, cream, eggs, vanilla, salt, and cornstarch until smooth.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed.
Let cool before slicing.
Serve with whipped cream if desired.
