This rustic Quebec bread is made with whole wheat flour, giving it a hearty texture and nutty flavor, perfect for sandwiches or toast.
Ingredients
☐3 cups whole wheat flour (360 g)
☐1 1/2 cups warm water (360 ml)
☐2 tbsp honey (30 g)
☐1 packet instant yeast (7 g)
☐1 tsp salt (5 g)
☐2 tbsp olive oil (30 ml)
Directions
In a large bowl, mix warm water, honey, and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
Add whole wheat flour, salt, and olive oil; mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased pan.
Let it rise for another 30 minutes before baking for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
