These sushi rolls combine classic Japanese flavors with local Quebec ingredients. Enjoy a delightful fusion that's perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
☐2 cups sushi rice (450 g)
☐2 1/2 cups water (600 ml)
☐4 sheets nori (seaweed)
☐1 avocado, sliced
☐1 cucumber, julienned
☐4 oz smoked salmon (115 g)
☐1/4 cup cream cheese (60 g)
☐Soy sauce, for serving
Directions
Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until clear.
Combine the rice and water in a pot, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Let the rice cool and season with a mixture of rice vinegar and sugar.
Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo mat, spread rice over it, leaving an edge.
Layer avocado, cucumber, smoked salmon, and cream cheese on top of the rice.
Roll tightly and slice into pieces.
Serve with soy sauce.
