This sourdough bread has a crispy crust and a soft, airy interior, perfect for sandwiches or enjoying with butter. A true artisanal staple.
Ingredients
☐3 cups all-purpose flour (360 g)
☐1 cup water (240 ml)
☐1/2 cup sourdough starter (120 g)
☐1 tsp salt (5 g)
☐1 tbsp sugar (15 g)
☐1 tbsp olive oil (15 ml)
Directions
In a large bowl, combine flour, water, sourdough starter, sugar, and salt.
Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place in a greased bowl and cover; let rise for 4-6 hours or until doubled in size.
Shape the dough into a loaf and place in a greased bread pan.
Let rise again for 1-2 hours before baking at 375°F (190°C) for 30-35 minutes.
