This traditional meat pie is filled with seasoned ground pork and beef, encased in a flaky pastry. A festive favorite!
Ingredients
☐1 lb (450 g) ground beef
☐1 lb (450 g) ground pork
☐1 onion, chopped
☐1 tsp (5 g) ground cinnamon
☐1/2 tsp (2 g) ground cloves
☐1/2 tsp (2 g) salt
☐2 pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)
☐1 egg (for egg wash)
Directions
In a skillet, cook the ground beef, pork, and onion until browned.
Add cinnamon, cloves, and salt; mix well.
Let the filling cool down.
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
Place one pie crust in a pie dish, fill with the meat mixture, and top with the second crust.
Cut slits on top to allow steam to escape.
Brush with egg wash and bake for 30-35 minutes.
