A classic French dish, beef bourguignon is a rich and hearty stew made with tender chunks of beef and red wine.
Ingredients
☐2 lbs beef chuck, cut into chunks
☐1/4 cup flour
☐4 slices bacon, chopped
☐1 onion, diced
☐2 carrots, sliced
☐2 cups red wine
☐2 cups beef broth
☐3 cloves garlic, minced
☐1 tsp thyme
☐Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
In a large pot, cook bacon until crispy; remove and set aside.
Dust beef chunks with flour and brown them in the pot.
Add onion and carrots, cooking until softened.
Pour in red wine and bring to a boil.
Add beef broth, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper; simmer for 1.5 hours.
Stir in bacon and serve with crusty bread.
