This succulent roast chicken is glazed with sweet maple syrup, a true taste of Quebec. It's a dish that impresses for any occasion.
Ingredients
☐1 whole chicken (about 4-5 lbs / 1.8-2.3 kg)
☐1/2 cup maple syrup (120 mL)
☐3 cloves garlic, minced
☐2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (30 g)
☐1 tablespoon olive oil (15 mL)
☐Salt and pepper to taste
☐Fresh thyme sprigs (for garnish)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a bowl, mix maple syrup, garlic, mustard, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Place the chicken in a roasting pan and brush with the maple glaze.
Roast the chicken for about 1 hour 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Baste with the glaze every 30 minutes.
Let rest before carving and garnish with thyme sprigs.
